Cat Third Eyelid

Cat have an extra eyelid-called the third eyelid- to protect their eye. This eyelid is in the corner of each eye. It is persistently visible only when the cat is ill or hurt- it may be suffering from a gastrointestinal or upper respiratory illness, or damaged eye in a fight. If only one eye is showing its third eyelid, its probably due to the eye itself being damaged rather than to the cat being sick. If your cats third eye is visible, take it to the vet for examination.
